Derek Dearborn, owner of Valley Chimney Sweep and Restoration, of Yorkville, IL, started helping on weekends and over summer vacations when the business first started. While all 3 sons helped in the family business through the years, Derek chose to enter it full time after graduating from the University of Illinois. With over 30 years of chimney experience, he easily passed the written CSIA Certification exams. His CSIA certification number is #7844. Married with 3 children, he spends his off-duty hours with family and involved in sports. His interests include golf, bowling as well as spectator sports.

“We had Valley Chimney Sweep out to check out a cracked firebox on a home we were considering purchasing.  They were honest & upfront about the condition of the chimney, what would need to be repaired, and what future repairs would look like (the chimney was built incorrectly).  The price for inspection was reasonable and if we choose to have the work done, the inspection payment is considered a prepayment toward the repairs.”
